Lennon's mother teaches him to play the banjo and indulges him, while his Aunt Mimi must be the responsible parent and tries to instill some discipline in the boy. Great DVD about John Lennon an untold story, around his teenage life and his way to stardom. Having done the Magical Mystery Tour on my last visit to Liverpool it was easy to recognise the locations. The story of the boy who became a man...and (after the point this fim ends)...the man who became a superstar...and the superstar who became a legend. My understanding of his boyhood before I saw this film was that Lennon liked to exaggerate how difficult his situation had been, separated from his mother and raised by his Aunt Mimi, when in reality he had a very comfortable, secure, middle-class upbringing. I wanted to recommend a movie to all of you.
The part of John is played by newcomer Aaron Johnson and he acquits himself very well indeed. This film sees Lennon up to the point of the first trip to Germany. Moi j'ai tâché de survivre pendant le film mais j'en suis ressorti décu et frustré !
Ouin !Très bon film ! Mais j'ai déjà vu des téléfilms du dimanche après-midi plus réussi et plus crédible. Paul didn't take a guitar to the Woolton Fete with him that day.He borrowed one from John or Eric Griffiths, one of the Quarrymen. Having watched Nowhere Boy on DVD (not in the cinema) I can report that I was pleasantly surprised at its quality.
The central character of Lennon is played well by Aaron Johnson, an actor still only aged 19 at the time of writing. Check out some of the IMDb editors' favorites movies and shows to round out your Watchlist.
Par moment ça tire un peu trop vers le pathos avec un Lennon beaucoup trop larmoyant. But that's because I'm a pedant when it comes to anything to do with The Beatles. A majority of this movie is based on Fact & only some has been slightly historically changed to relay the story for non fans. I still enjoyed the film and have watched it many times now. Great movie, a must-watch for every Beatlemaniac! The "Twenty-Flight Rock" scene I awaited with baited breath, as it's such an important and well documented part of John and Paul's lives, and that was not quite right. It captures that brief period just before the early group went to Hamburg Germany & carved out their craft & magic. It is a portrayal of his troubled teenaged years when he was a cocky tearaway with a chip on his shoulder and a lot of "issues". Do not usually like this sort of film, and being a huge Lennon fan was a reluctant to watch it. In a family full of secrets and tragedy, two incredible women clash over John, who escapes into the new and exciting world of rock 'n' roll, where he finds his voice - and an icon explodes into the world.
Une démystification en bonne et due forme. I just loved this film. When I watched the film I got the impression I had seen it previously - maybe it had been shown on TV - however I still thought the film was good & like some other reviewers I was part of the sixties and was a fan of the Beatles.
Playing an iconic figure is no easy task as everybody has there own ideas about the person in question but he does a great job. The film makers really have done their homework and I believe the authenticity of the film comes through in all aspects of the production. Please try againSorry, we failed to record your vote. The film was helped at Guinea Filmex Celebration on October 7, 1962 in Mozambique.
